Glazed ceramic sculpture, RAKU Technique - African woman and her baby

Artiste : Millet Brigitte

Original sculpture, in glazed ceramic, in the Japanese RAKU Technique. Entitled "African woman and her baby".

Raku, an abbreviation of the Japanese term raku-yaki 楽焼, is the result of a glazing technique developed in Japanese ceramics in the 16th century. A more solid chamotte stoneware is used because the pieces have to withstand large temperature variations.

This elegant piece (H 42 cm) is an original and unique creation by Brigitte MILLET of the Atelier PIQUIFOU.
