Magnificent glazed ceramic sculpture, in the Japanese RAKU Technique. Entitled "Draped 7 Vietnamese".
Raku, an abbreviation of the Japanese term raku-yaki 楽焼, is the result of a glazing technique developed in Japanese ceramics in the 16th century. A more solid chamotte stoneware is used because the pieces have to withstand large temperature variations.
This very elegant piece (H 39 cm W 42 cm) is an original and unique creation by Brigitte MILLET from the PIQUIFOU studio.
